We have embarked upon many different aspects of things that people are passionate about. What's yours?
Why Passion?
For our project we had to select a topic, and the topic we chose was passion. We chose this because we felt as though everyone is passionate about something. Therefore, we thought that a lot of people would be able to connect to this topic. Now, going off that idea, my group members and I had to take pictures that would somehow demonstrate our topic.
Where do we even begin? We were a bit clueless at first as where to start. Initially, we had a discussion with a photographer on how to take pictures and what angles we should have in our pictures. The photographer also discussed with us a lot of local sports teams that we could contact to take pictures of, but my group members and I kind of already knew that we didn't want to just take a whole bunch of pictures that showed people being passionate about sports. People are passionate about many different things such as food, flowers, gaming, cars and much more. Therefore, we wanted to showcase that in our photos. So in the end, we took some of the photographer's advice, but we more so went off on our own to figure out how we were going to capture passion. Eventually we created a story board of potential photos that we could take. After that, we were off snapping photos. Some photos that we took we ended up scraping them and took more photos in hopes of capturing that "perfect" shot.
What Is It?
In order to take pictures of passion we had to figure out what being passionate meant. When
we Googled passion, three main definitions came up. The one definition said that it's a ''strong and barely controllable emotion'' and the other definition said that it's the ''suffering and death of Jesus.'' We had no idea that passion also meant that, but we were not going to focus on that aspect of. Finally, the third definition on Google read, "it's the intense desire or enthusiasm for something." We ended up going along with this definition, but we were still figuring out how we were going to get this message across to the audience, especially through a photo.
Too Much Love?
There is a such thing as being too passionate and this can sometimes lead to conflicts that are not just within ourselves, but with other people. Some of us try to use the things that we are passionate about to harm others, and this is not acceptable. We live in a world where people just don't get along with each other and one of the reasons why is because of passion. Whether it's people being too devoted to things such as their country or religion as to where they can't accept other people and or forced not to, These are just some of the factors that separate us from each other. On the bright side, we can change this one small step at a time by simply putting our love for things to good use which will then help bring people together.
